What is ISTS
The International Spiritual Training Seminar (ISTS) is a three-day spiritual retreat, learning the TRUTH in a beautiful environment. At ISTS, you will hear many lectures that will help you find the key to happiness in your life.
One of the most important activities of Seicho-No-Ie is the Spiritual Training Seminar (STS). Many of those attending the STS have attained the awareness, "I am a child of God." The True Image of Man is essentially perfect; it is harmonious divine nature itself. However, even if you have a diamond worth several million dollars in your pocket, if you are not aware of it, its wealth is as nothing.
Self-realization cannot be attained through intellectual knowledge alone.
First of all, it is necessary to know that the True Image of the self is perfect and harmonious. Knowing this only intellectually, however, you will not be able to manifest your power.
As it is written in the Preface to Truth of Life, Volume 7: "To know the Truth intellectually is to know that there is plenty of water in the reservoir. Just knowing this is not enough to make the water one's own. The water in the reservoir must flow into the aqueduct that is buried beneath the ground (the subconscious mind). But with that alone we cannot make use of the water. As a final step, we must turn on the tap. The Truth must be put into action; it must become a part of your daily life" (p. xiv) Faith without action is empty prayer and has no merit.
